Headliners Announced: The Pains of Being Pure at Heart & Oberhofer

3 Jan

We are ecstatic to announce our national headliners, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Oberhofer!

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart captured our hearts early with their debut self-titled release in 2009, which was one of the most played albums on WCDB that year. That love affair continued with their 2011 release Belong, which came in at #10 on WCDB’s station-wide “Best Albums of 2011” list (#4 on NYTimes, #5 on Stereogum, #15 on NME, #19 on Pitchfork). Belong was recorded with the production and mixing team of Flood (Depeche Mode, U2) and Alan Moulder (Jesus and Mary Chain). Both albums came out on Slumberland Records and received Pitchfork’s Best New Music.

Oberhofer released their debult album Time Capsules II early in 2012 on Glassnote Records. An instant hit the day we got it into the studio, the album charted at #11 on WCDB’s Top Albums of 2012 (#5 on WCDB Rock Director Kyle Ryan’s list). 2012 for Oberhofer also saw a national tour with Matt & Kim (which made a stop at Albany’s PearlPalooza in September), and earlier in the year with Pond (members of Tame Impala).

Tickets are $18 in advance and
on-sale now.  To celebrate the announcement of our headliners, we’re lowering the ticket price to $15 from now until 11:59pm on Friday, January 5th!
